Quick steps to change your look

Quick steps to change your look

Add Some Color
"Hair color is the best-ever quick fix—whether it's a 'breakover' after dumping that last guy or celebrating a new promotion," says celebrity colorist Jason Backe from New York’s Ted Gibson Salon. He says changing your color is something you can easily do on a whim to completely transform your look or give your confidence a boost. The ultimate treat is booking your color with a salon pro, but Jason recommends Clairol as a great at-home option.

Shape Your Brows
"Keep your eyebrows shaped to make people think you got a mini eye lift," says celebrity makeup artist Elke Von Freudenberg. Brows frame your face, and fabulous shaping can give you a whole new look.

Whiten Your Teeth
Lunchtime whitening is the new "It" treatment among urban fashionistas and a great way to instantly zap a little sexy into your appearance. "QuickWhite is a 20-minute in-office dental spa treatment [that] can lighten teeth up to six shades in one-third the time and at one-third the cost of traditional Zoom or BriteSmile treatments," says celebrity dentist Dr. Jeff Golub-Evans. "Try it at lunch hour at the New York Center for Cosmetic Dentistry and still have time for lunch." Visit QuickWhite.net for a consultant near you.

Do Your Part
"Flipping your part to the other side, moving it deeper toward the ear or zigzagging it will give your hair lift and will change the way your hair frames your face,” says Nadine Haobsh, author of Beauty Confidential. “It's free, takes two seconds and makes a dramatic difference."

Wear Glasses
"Glasses are a fun and practical way to update and transform your look," says Lisa Gear, style expert for LensCrafters. "From 'new-retro' cat-eye frames to bold bright colors, glasses are a smart fashion accessory to express your personal style, whether it's casual or sophisticated."

Imbibe in Water

If you don't already, drink up! "I drink at least 10 to 12 glasses a day,” says Lisa Lillien, founder of Hungry-Girl.com and author of Hungry Girl: Recipes and Survival Strategies for Guilt-Free Eating in the Real World. ”It keeps my skin looking good and makes me feel energized. And drinking a few glasses of water before meals keeps your appetite in check."

Start from Within
If you feel good, you look good. "Inner and outer beauty is expressed spontaneously when body, mind and spirit are in balance. Sense of self, or self-esteem, determines how you feel and behave," says Deepak Chopra, one of the world's greatest leaders in the field of mind body medicine. "Meditation and Ayurveda [medicine] help you achieve peace and harmony inside, which translate into beauty outside."
